Many say that the summer social season starts with the Retirees annual Spring Fling Dinner-Dance and if this year's dance on May 19, 2005 is any indication, this should be one wonderful summer for UAW Local 588 Retirees. Over 250 people made reservations, 49 people won prizes, four Retirees were recognized for outstanding achievements and everyone had more food than they could eat and danced long into the night. Jimboo's of South Holland catered a huge buffet with every kind of meat and salad imaginable while local disc jockey Tommy (Fiorenzo) Tunes and his wife Pat played musical requests and called the raffles. Scroll down to see how the evening turned out.

Something new this year, a number of retirees were recognized for various achievements. (L. - R.) Joe Bednar was recognized for being the longest retired Retiree at the dance. John Tate was recognized for having traveled the farthest to get to the dance. He drove up from Hartwell, GA. Red Allen was recognized for being the newest retired Retiree at the dance and Phil Teske was recognized for being the youngest retiree at the dance. Each Retiree recieved a certificate and a bottle of wine.

Bob and Deanna Schlink once again brought their wonderful and highly sought after Stanley Home Products for eleven lucky raffle winners.

All of the prizes added much enjoyment to the evening and a big thank you goes to all of the contributors for their generosity.
