With stormy weather a major factor at the last two UAW Local 588 Retirees dances, this year's Spring Fling will be memorable by the beautiful spring day and the clear, starry night that retirees enjoyed on Thursday, May 18, 2006. It was the perfect setting for dining and dancing with old and new friends.
Three hundred Retirees, their spouses and guests returned RSVP's and enjoyed a buffet dinner from Jimbooo's of South Holland and music from DJ Tommy (Fiorenzo)Tunes and his wife, Patty. Forty-one people won prizes ranging from cash prizes to oil changes and tire rotations, car care kits, a George Foreman Grill, a prized gold trophy golf club, even an inflatable pool chair and more. Local auto dealers supplying prizes for the evening were Art Hill Ford, River Oaks Ford, and Don McClain Ford. Stanley Home Product prizes were donated by Retirees Bob and Deuanna Schlink and two men's haircuts were donated by Dana Barbosa of A Little Off the Top Barber Shop, Lansing, IL. Cash prize winners were George Singleton, Bill Born, Norma Kuzemka, Wanda Robertson, Jim Davis and Pete Spiller. Terry Huycke won the gold golf club from Art Hill Ford.
