Jerry Carroll built a memorial bench for the Momence Junior High School

Jerry Carroll sent this picture of a bench he made for the junior high school in Momence. He said, "I built an all steel memorial bench for the family of Momence school teacher, Steve Johnson. Steve passed away awhile back. The bench is installed on the west side of the junior high. It's engraved and painted with an automotive finish. My wife, Carol, is standing behind it."

Harry Duncan sets out the wood craft pieces he makes for a local craft sale.

Harry Duncan is simply a wizard with a jig saw turning plain planks of wood into candalabras, collaspible baskets, angels, creches, Christmas trees and snowmen that he sells at local craft shows.

Jerry Carroll displayed his metal work art at a Momence art show. Carrol Carroll's paintings were displayed at a Momence art show.

Jerry and Carol Carroll showed off their art work at the First Baptist Church Art Show in Momence on July 26, 2003. Jerry entered guns, powder horns, knives and other metal work that he's created while Carol entered her paintings. Jerry also made the easel for Carol's paintings. The guns have silver and brass wire inlay carving as well as engraving, which qualifys them as art.

Larry Balducci poses by the model railroad he built in retirement. Look at the complicated control panel on the front of the table!

Larry Balducci, a model railroader nearly all his life, built the model railroad seen in these pictures. Check out all the complex controls on the front of the table that run and maneuver his trains. Mountains, painted on the wall in the background make a realistic backdrop for all of the detailed, miniature buildings and street scenes Larry built.

The railroad winds around miniture houses and factories complete with small model cars, trucks and people.
The rose and leaves in this picture were made by Jerry Carroll in his home blacksmith shop. Jerry Carroll crafted this knife from a railroad spike.

Jerry Carroll sent pictures of some of the metal work he has forged in his blacksmith shop. The knife, to the right, was made from a railroad spike. Jerry said that the rose in the pitcher, in the picture to the left, started out as a length of 3/8 round bolt stock. A wrought iron candle stand and ornate hooks are some of the other decorative work that he has done. To see pictures, click on the underlined hyperlinks. Jerry not only creates beautiful and useful metal work, he teaches smithing as well.
